Fatemeh Shams receives Humboldt Foundation Fellowship

Assistant Professor of Persian literature, Fatemeh Shams has been awarded a 14-months long fellowship by the Humboldt Foundation in Germany to start working on her second book project in Germany during the next academic year. Fatemeh’s second book project is about Iranian exile literature and Iranian exile literati in diaspora. With the help of this prestigious fellowship, Fatemeh will start the archival work for her project in Germany and Europe after a 4 months intensive German language course at the Goethe Institute of Berlin, starting from June 2021. As a Humboldtian scholar, Fatemeh will join the internationally acclaimed Forum Transregionale Studien in Berlin, to closely work and network with leading international scholars as well as German academia in the upcoming academic year.

The Humboldt Foundation sponsors scientists and scholars, irrespective of academic discipline and nationality to strengthen Germany as a research location through international research exchanges.
