Rolland Long is a PhD Candidate in Egyptian Archaeology. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2017 with a bachelor’s from its department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. His research focuses on the continued post-Middle Kingdom settlement of Wah-sut in South Abydos, where he works as a field archaeologist. Rolland has also had a strong interest in learning all phases of the ancient Egyptian language, with a particular emphasis on grammar; he is a research assistant at the University of Chicago Oriental Institute’s Chicago Demotic Dictionary.
